Lack of Apple stores in Ireland
People may have noticed the decline in good Mac outlets in Dublin in recent months. The closure of some Spectra Photo stores which once stocked Apple products (Dundrum and Grafton Street for example) is the biggest blow to the availability of Mac goods in Dublin. O2 have also left this market in recent times, and O2 PR confirmed to us that no O2 stores currently supply Mac equipment in Ireland.
The market around Ireland appears to have been left to the long-standing Mac suppliers, such as CompuB and others. Some of these suppliers are good, with experienced staff, but we still find it disappointing that there are so few places to walk into and view Macs and iPods in the capital.
Apple Ireland list the names of authorised distributors for equipment, so would-be retailers can get in touch and find out about supplies and how to purchase Apple products for resale.
We are also always interested in hearing your stories- have you had a good buying experience in Ireland, or have you encountered poor service from a supplier? Let us know.
