O2 announce iPhone 3G S prices for Ireland

O2 have released their tariffs and prices for the new iPhone 3G S. The new phones will be available form June 26th, although data tethering will not be available at launch. However MMS will be available from the start, something AT&T have been criticised for the in the US.
iPhone 3G S in Ireland
The cost of a 16GB iPhone 3G S ranges from €79 to €199, with the 32GB version ranging from €169 to €299. These prices are for new customers. Current iPhone owners will need to check their upgrade options with O2 [see here].

Price plans for existing iPhone users will also change. Here are the details:

One of the disappointing aspects is O2's limited data allowance, still stuck on a paltry 1GB. We find this to be a very weak aspect of the package, considering the iPhone is designed to be an internet device. Would it be so hard to lift this limit to 5 or 10GB? Also, two years after the original iPhone was launched, O2 Ireland still do not support the Visual Voicemail feature.

O2 will also offer the new iPhone 3G S to prepay customers, although they will need deep pockets. The 16GB 3G S will cost €519, while the 32GB 3G S will be €609. The current 8GB iPhone 3G has been reduced in cost to €420.
