Apple Expo in Paris looms

Expo to be held from Sept. 20th to 24th 2005
The annual Apple European Expo is to be held in Paris from 20th-24th September 2005. This is Apple premier European event. Apple now only hold three major conferences per year, with MacWorld San Francisco (January), the WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference, held in May) and the Apple Expo in Paris. Each of these are normally attended by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who delivers the keynote address. His attendance has not yet been confirmed for 2005, but this would be expected.
However, last year's Paris show was addressed by Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of world wide product marketing. Steve Jobs was recovering from surgery and Schiller stepped in.
This year the event is scheduled about 3 weeks later than in 2004, which was 31st August to 4th September.
Other Mac events are held throughout the year, such as smaller events in London (October/November) and Boston (July). Apple have attended recent London shows (although on a smaller scale than the major shows), and decided not to attend the 2004 and 2005 Boston Mac expos. This left the US East without an expo for the first time in many years. IDG, the organisers of the east coast event, decided to move the show from New York to Boston, citing cheaper exhibition and accommodation costs.
