17/10/05 23:50
Major Macintosh UK show starts on 27th October 2005
Apple will be attending the Mac Expo, held in Olympia's National Hall, London from 27th-29th. This is the only other significant European show, following on from the Apple Expo, Paris, in September. It is also probably the easiest show for Irish Mac enthusiasts to attend.
Conference speakers at the event include New York Times columnist and Mac author, David Pogue, and Macworld columnists, Andy Ihnatko. The show is open from 10am until 6pm Thursday and Friday and 10am until 5pm on Saturday. Tickets cost £12 on the door, but visitors can pre-register on the the show's website to receive for discounted tickets.
The show will have a number of conference sessions (involving the above speakers), which focus on the areas of "Mac OS X Tiger" and "Design Pro."
Irish retailer CompuB will also be attending the show. This event will be one of the first opportunities to see the new iMac G5 and the new iPod with video. Apple released these products after the Paris Expo, and so the London show is the first opportunity for consumers to meet and talk to Apple staff and retailers such as CompuB. You can find out more at the Mac Expo site and from CompuB.
