The start of the end for the PowerBooks?...
Apple have discontinued the PowerBook G4 15 inch model. In January they introduced the new MacBook Pro, and this Intel-based laptop is seen as the successor to the PowerBook range.
At present, Apple sell the Mac Book 15", the PowerBook 12" and the PowerBook 17". It is likely that a MacBook Pro 12" and 17" will be launched this year, bringing the entire professional laptop range into the MacBook Pro family.
The MacBook Pro is now shipping, although the AppleStore for Ireland currently estimates a delay of 3-4 weeks for both the 1.83Ghz and the 2Ghz models.
