Apple have announced record results, with $6 billion profit and revenues of $24.4 billion.
Mac sales exceeded 4 million units for the very first time, with strong sales in laptops. Over 16 million iPhones were sold in the quarter, and the iPad also had its best quarter so far, with 7.33 million units.
iPad sales
There were very few low points in the results. The only one we could find was that iPod sales slipped back. Although at a very healthy 19.5 million for the Christmas quarter, this is at its lowest Christmas figure since 2006.
Apple retail store sales continue to grow, now at $3.85 billion., doubling in the space of one year, from $1.97 in Q1 2010. Apple’s revenue from the iTunes store also reached $1.1 billion for the quarter.
