All electronic goods are now UK-only...
In the last few weeks Amazon.co.uk have changed their delivery terms and conditions, and have stopped shipping goods to customers in the Republic of Ireland. Orders for books and music can still be dispatched, but items in the Electronics & Photo, PC & Video Games and other sections of the store are now listed as available for delivery in the UK only.
We confirmed this this morning with Amazon Customer Services. They stated that this was due to the Producer Recycling Charge which was introduced recently in Ireland, where by distributors of electronic goods has to pay a small fee towards the eventual recycling of electronic goods.
However one of the anomalies Amazon's system is that music CDs are available to Irish customers as they are in the music section, but blank CDs won't be shipped as they are in the Electronics and Photo section.
Amaozn.co.uk couldn't confirm when this situation would be resolved but stated that they were working hard to ensure that this was only a temporary problem.
